WINNIPEG – Now that the Moderna vaccine has been approved in Canada, Manitoba will start ramping things up next week.
Dr. Joss Reimer who’s in charge of vaccine distribution in the province expects to immunize 10,000 people per week next month.
She says this will be possible with the opening of the new immunization clinic at the RBC Convention Centre on January 4th.
Also, starting next week, more health care workers will be eligible to get one of the two COVID-19 vaccines. Those who have direct contact with patients in critical and acute care units, long-term care facilities including personal care homes and COVID testing sites will all be able to get the shot.
