STEINBACH – Steinbach Regional Secondary School was locked down yesterday after reports that a student had brought a pellet gun to school and threatened a classmate.

Police immediately arrived and searched the building thoroughly before determining that the suspect had left the area.

Officers followed up on several tips and located the suspect at approximately 4:30 pm outside a residence on Mckenzie Avenue in Steinbach.

The suspect, a 15-year-old male from Steinbach, was arrested and is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a Concealed Weapon x 2, Uttering Threats and Assault.

Police continue to search for the pellet gun.
