WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg woman in her 20’s was taken to hospital with numerous stab wounds early on Christmas morning.

The stabbing occurred at a home on Toronto street at about 3:20 am. The woman was taken to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition. The victim apparently knew her attacker and after the attack the suspect took the keys to her home.

Police located the suspect later in the day at a hotel on Ellice Avenue and arrested her.

18 year-old Vera Raquel Grieves has been charged with Attempted Murder and Robbery. She has been held in custody.
