WINNIPEG – A 19-year-old man has lost his life in a single vehicle accident Friday in Portage la Prairie, the 18-year-old driver has been charged.

Friday morning, shortly before 2:00 AM, police responded to the collision in Island Park in Portage la Prairie. A pickup truck had struck a large tree.

There were two people in the pick-up. A 19-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon Friesen, 18-years-old, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death and Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle.
