22 Year-Old Virden Man Charged With 2nd Degree Murder

VIRDEN – A 22 year-old Virden man ha been charged with 2nd Degree Murder after stabbing a man during an altercation.

On January 15 at 12:30 AM. RCMP arrived at a home on Queen Street West to find two men involved in a fight. One of the men was a 22 year-old from Virden and the other was a 27 year-old from Canupawakpa Dakota First Nation.

Both men were seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital. 22 year-old Bradley Kenneth Tomms was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Uttering Threats. He was taken into custody.

On January 16 the 27 year-old man died as a result if his injuries. Bradley Tomms was then charged with 2nd Degree Murder.

The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate.
