24-Year-Old Man Had a Shotgun Under His Coat

WINNIPEG, MB – Winnipeg Police seized a loaded shotgun they found on a 24-year-old male walking.

Wednesday evening, January 31 around 8:10 p.m., police stopped three males in the area of Aikins Street and Alfred Avenue. One man fled as police approached the three although two did stay put. Police said, they learned the one male had a shotgun hidden beneath his clothing.

Police were able to catch up with and charge Kevin Carter Smith, 24-years-old, with the following;

  • Possess Weapon
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance X2
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X2
