Manitoba Post StaffNews

SELKIRK – RCMP found three young men suffering from stab wounds at a house party with approximately 200 people in attendance.

Just before midnight on Friday, Police said they arrived at a home holding a large party on Highland Drive in the RM of St. Andrews.

Upon arrival, Mounties estimated about 200 people near the home, many of them youths, attempting to leave the area on foot and in vehicles. People directed police to a home where they located two men outside, aged 16 and 17, that had suffered stab wounds. A third man, age 17, was located in the home also suffering from a stab wound. All three young men were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police have determined that an open invitation to the party was posted to social media, resulting in a large number of people attending. The stabbing occurred following an altercation between two groups.

Selkirk RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed, or taken videos or photos of the altercation, to call the Selkirk RCMP at 204-482-1222.
