WINNIPEG, MB – Island Lake RCMP have charged Jonathan Wood, 34, with with Second Degree Murder.

Early Sunday, January 28, around 12:15 am, police learned of a female who was taken to the St. Theresa Point Nursing Station. When she arrived at the Nursing Station, the woman was pronounced dead.

RCMP said their investigation revealed that the 35-year-old woman had been assaulted. Jonathan Wood, who is 34, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, Breach of Recognizance x 13 and Fail to Comply with Probation x 4. Wood remains in RCMP custody.
