WINNIPEG – 4 Youths threatened and robbed a man at gunpoint.
On November 19th, just before 7 pm., police were alerted to 4 men armed with a gun trying to break into vehicles on McPhillips Street. When a 19 year-old man tried to stop them, they pointed their weapon at him.
20 minutes later they robbed another man at gunpoint a few blocks away. The 37 year-old victim was walking through a parking lot when the youths confronted him asking for money. He kept on walking but one of the suspects pointed the gun at him and demanded his money. They took the victim’s back pack and ran away.
Officers quickly found the youths in a back lane on Inkster and arrested them.
A 14-year-old Winnipeg boy has been charged with armed robbery, using a firearm during an indictable offence, possessing a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a weapon and disguise with intent.
A 16-year-old Winnipeg youth has been charged with armed robbery, using a firearm during an indictable offence, possessing a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a weapon and disguise with intent.
A 16-year-old youth and 17-year-old youth, both of Winnipeg have been charged with armed robbery, and using a firearm during an indictable offence.
All four males have been detained in custody at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
