68-Year-Old Man Stabbed on Maplehurst Road

WINNIPEG – Police are searching for a suspect after a 68-year-old man was stabbed Monday evening.

Police said around 6:00PM they responded to a stabbing call on Maplehurst Road. When officers arrived they found a 68-year-old man suffering from a significant laceration. Police immediately applied a tourniquet to the victim to stem the bleeding. The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

The victim told police he was noticed two strangers in a neighbouring garage. When he confronted a woman in the garage he was attacked by a man who stabbed him and fled.

A K-9 unit searched the area but was unable to locate the suspects.

The suspects are described as an indigenous man and woman in their early 20’s.
