WINNIPEG – The city has been testing noise deterrents to keep homeless people from living under bridges.

However, the beeping devices will now be removed from four locations and the pilot project will be discontinued.

Critics of the idea and advocates for the homeless call this treatment inhumane, unethical and discriminatory.
