WINNIPEG – No one likes the province’s new red/critical restrictions but most Manitobans believe they’re necessary, as COVID-19 numbers continue to rise.

However, some people are pushing back against the measures. Anti-maskers are planning a protest this weekend to protest Dr. Brent Roussin’s public health orders.

A group called Hugs Over Masks Nation says it will hold a car rally in Steinbach on Saturday with speakers including a retired chiropractor, a pastor and Lewis Weiss who’s the reeve of the RM of La Broquerie. He says the coronavirus rules aren’t fair.

Steinbach has the highest number of active cases in the Southern health region right now and the virus has killed 11 people there.
