Armed Passenger Fires Shot Through Taxi Windshield

WINNIPEG – An armed passenger in a taxi cab terrorized the driver before firing a shot out of the window and then firing a shot through the front window of the cab as he was exiting the vehicle.

The incident occurred on January 13 at about 2:30 am. near King Street. Police responded to the destination where the taxi driver had dropped the passenger along with two others and when the home was searched they found a loaded sawed-off shot gun.

The taxi driver did not require medical attention.

19 year-old Dorian Tyrell Packo has been charged with:

– Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x4)

-Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x2)

-Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition

-Pointing a Firearm

-Possess Weapon (x2)

-Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x2)

-Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle

-Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm (x2)

-Discharge a Restricted Firearm or a Prohibited Firearm with Intent

-Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

24 year-old Rudy Carpentier has been charged with:

– Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

– Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

– Possess Weapon

– Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

-Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition

-Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Both men have been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.

An 24-year-old male and a 19-year-old female were also arrested for unrelated outstanding warrants.
