Bring the Kids to the Zoo on October 19

HeatherKleinNews

Friday, October 19 is an in-service day and kids from school divisions across the province will have the day off. Assiniboine Park Zoo is offering discounted admission that day so bring out the family for a great day at the Zoo!

Adult, senior and youth admission will be reduced to $15.00 plus GST. Admission for children age 3 to 12 will remain $11.25 plus GST and children under three are free.

“On in-service days, many families are left looking for something to do. We wanted to do something special to help families plan ahead and fill that gap,” said Laura Cabak, Marketing & Communication Specialist, Assiniboine Park Conservancy. “Fall is great time to come to the Zoo and spend time outdoors. It’s always a fun outing and even though school may be out, kids can always learn something new at the Zoo!”

In addition to enjoying discounted admission, on October 19 visitors will also be able to enjoy a sneak peek of the Zoo’s Snow Leopard Weekend activities. We will be hosting a special Zoo Chat and animal enrichment presentation with the snow leopards at 10:30 am and visitors can also see how their jumping skills compare to a snow leopard! Full Snow Leopard Weekend activities will take place on October 20 and 21.

This will also be a great opportunity for families to enjoy one last visit to the Xtreme BUGS exhibit presented by Artis REIT before it closes at the end of the month. The temporary exhibit features 19 giant, animatronic bugs along a forested trail inside the Zoo. Included with regular Zoo admission, the exhibit transports visitors into a vivid, dynamic, and awe-inspiring new environment where they can experience how the world would appear from a bug’s eye view.

Discounted admission will be offered only on Friday, October 19. Discounted tickets must be purchased in person at the Zoo entrance and cannot be combined with other offers. The Zoo shifts to winter hours of operation on October 15 and will be open daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. For more information, please visit assiniboineparkzoo.ca.
