WINNIPEG – The City of Winnipeg has closed five of its employee fitness centres.
This after gym owners got upset that the city was operating its facilities but their businesses were forced to close under COVID-19 restrictions.
The city says it got the green light from the province several months ago but Dr. Brent Roussin says that was only because his public health orders don’t apply to government.
Gyms in fire halls and police stations will stay open so these civic employees can stay fit for their jobs.
