WINNIPEG – We’re just a few weeks away from May Long Weekend and the start of cottage season but some things will be different this year because of CoVid-19.
The province continues to recommend no unnecessary travel but many people are still expected to go to their cottages. Health officials worry about overloading smaller medical facilities if cottagers from elsewhere start getting sick.
In Winnipeg Beach, for example, town officials are urging seasonal residents to bring everything they need and go straight to their cottage, don’t stop anywhere along the way. According to the town’s website, all outdoor events including bandstand performances have been cancelled until the end of July.
