WINNIPEG – More remote First Nations in northern Manitoba are asking for help to protect their communities from COVID-19.

The virus is so bad in Shamattawa that the military has been called in.

The north has the highest per capita infection rate in the province. 23 of yesterday’s 241 new cases of coronavirus were in the Northern health region.
