WINNIPEG – The province says it doesn’t know why dead fish showed up on the shores of Lake Winnipeg last month.

Wildlife and Fisheries tested the dead carp but nothing unusual was found, no viruses were detected.

Experts say it’s possible that the fish simply got caught on the shore when the ice melted this spring.
