WINNIPEG – This past weekend was the worst by far since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

The province announced 10 deaths and 661 new cases.

Five of the deaths were residents of Maples personal care home and two were at St. Boniface hospital.

The Winnipeg metro area is now red or critical under the province’s pandemic response system, while the rest of Manitoba is orange or restricted.
