WINNIPEG – The provincial death toll from COVID-19 has hit 301. One of the 21 people who died on the weekend was a boy under 10 years old. That’s the youngest Manitoban to be killed by the virus.

The province also announced 852 new cases of coronavirus on the weekend. Over half of them are in Winnipeg.

336 people are currently in hospital, 44 of them in intensive care.

There is a bit of good news as we begin another week of flattening the curve. The test positivity rate has fallen below 14 per cent for the first time in over a week. The rate is now 13.3.
