As originally reported on Manitoba Post (story below) the city is holding an information session for the Vehicles for Hire Taxicab License Lottery and Dispatcher Licenses and Requirements on January 29th.
Due to high demand the city is adding another Vehicles for Hire Taxicab License Lottery information session on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Garden City Community Centre, 725 Kingsbury Ave.
Space is limited, and the city is telling those interested in attending to RSVP by emailing, WPA-VFH@winnipeg.ca.

WINNIPEG, MB. – Winnipeg City Council approved 60 more year-round taxi licenses that will be awarded through a lottery. The city is inviting those interested in the “vehicles for hire” industry to attend information sessions.
There will be two different sessions that will provide more details on the process and requirements on the taxicab license lottery and dispatcher licensing.
The first session is “Vehicles for Hire Taxicab License Lottery”. I will be held January 29, 2018 from 1 to 3 PM at the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre, 625 Osborne Street.
The second Information is for “Dispatcher Licenses and Requirements” is on January 29, 2018 from 3 to 5 PM also at the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre.
The Vehicle for Hire By-law in Winnipeg requires that all vehicles for hire be associated with a dispatcher and that all dispatchers hold a dispatcher license. This session will provide details about the application process and the requirements on dispatchers under the By-law.
