WINNIPEG – Here’s an example of why it’s always good to check your surroundings while driving.

RCMP said an officer was travelling in the South Bound lane on the Perimeter Highway, just north of Manitoba Highway #3, when a vehicle decided to illegally pass everyone on the shoulder to make a West Bound turn.

Police said the driver was presented with a $203.00 fine.
