WINNIPEG, MB – Saturday evening around 5:00 PM, Carman RCMP respond to fatal accident involving a pick-up and a semi-truck.
The accident, involving two-vehicles, happened at Road 32 North and Road 28 West, in the RM of Dufferin, Manitoba, south of Carman.
RCMP said in a news release, the initial investigation has shown that a semi-trailer and a pickup truck collided at an uncontrolled intersection.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 47-year-old male, was pronounce dead at the scene. A 15-year-old female passenger in the pickup truck was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is now stable. Another passenger, a 16-year-old female, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All of the people in the pickup truck are from the RM of Thompson. The 35-year-old driver of the semi, from the RM of Portage la Prairie, was not injured.
A RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation, police do not believe alcohol was a factor.
