WINNIPEG – On December 22 at about 10:30 am., police received a report that a man was armed with a gun on Dufferin Avenue. As police arrived, a man and a woman ran away. Police caught up with the pair on Stella Avenue but the man refused to cooperate and began pacing back and forth.
When they tried to take him into custody the woman began yelling at police and placed herself between them which enabled the man to get away. The woman was taken into custody while the man ran into a restaurant on Selkirk Avenue. He was arrested behind the restaurant.
When he was searched police found ammunition, approximately $1,200 worth of Methamphetamine, a digital scale and cash.
A search of the restaurant yielded an additional $400 of Meth and when a K-9 unit searched the area they recovered the .38 calibre handgun with 6 rounds of ammunition.
