WINNIPEG – The city is looking at free Winnipeg Transit for all.
Councillor Vivian Santos’ motion asking administration to develop no fare bus program has been passed unanimously at the community committee level and it now goes to the standing policy committee on infrastructure renewal and public works.
She says her idea would break socioeconomic barriers, increase ridership and contribute to a smaller carbon footprint.
Kids as old as 11 starting riding the bus for free last month if accompanied by an adult.
