Gilbert Plains Man Stabbed During Break-In

GILBERT PLAINS – a 36 year-old man was taken to hospital after being stabbed during a break-in.

The victim answered his door at 11:15 pm. on February 12 and was immediately assaulted by two men. They stabbed him in the upper body and them grabbed a small amount of cannabis before fleeing.

Police found the vehicle parked on Highway 5 and after a brief altercation, both men were arrested.

21 year-old Roger Keshane of Gilbert Plains, has been charged with Breaking and Entering and committing an Aggravated Assault, Robbery with a Weapon, Resisting Arrest, Uttering Threats, Failing to Comply with Conditions x 3 and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.

A 17-year-old male from Gilbert Plains, has been charged with Breaking and Entering and committing an Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Resisting Arrest, and Failing to Comply with Conditions x 2.

The victim was taken to hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The suspects and victim were known to each other, and there was never any concern for the public.

RCMP continue to investigate.
