WINNIPEG – The province is advising property owners to take precautions as high winds are forecasted for the south basins of Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba.
In a release from the province on Wednesday, it was note that especially strong effects are expected for the Victoria Beach area.
The alert indicates wind speed and direction could raise water levels by as much as three to five feet. Additionaly, these winds can result in significant wave action on shorelines.
Some ice pile up is also possible.
