WINNIPEG – The number of Manitoba families that have registered to teach their children at home has doubled because of COVID-19.
One month into the new school year, almost 7,400 students are enrolled for homeschooling. That’s up from just under 3,700 at the end of last month.
Kids being schooled at home can rejoin the public school system at any time but while they’re homeschooling, their families aren’t eligible for funding or any other resources from the province.
