WINNIPEG – A local COVID-19 expert says standing in line might be riskier than shopping once you get in the store.

Epidemiologist Cynthia Carr at EPI Research says lineups are chokepoints and people should be very careful how long they’re lined up for, while also keeping their distance and wearing a mask.

When stores reopened at 25 per cent capacity on Saturday, some people felt crowds were too big, especially at malls.

Dr. Brent Roussin says crowding is concerning and he urges people to follow the fundamentals.
