Loaded Firearms Recovered From Stolen Vehicle

WINNIPEG – A stolen vehicle that had been missing for ten days was recovered with loaded firearms inside.

On February 10 police stopped a stolen vehicle travelling on Portage Avenue. They arrested the two men inside and a search of the vehicle and suspects resulted in the seizure of two loaded improvised firing devices.

33 year-old Eric Matthew Morrissette has been charged with:

– Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition

– Possession of a Weapon

– Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

– Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle

– Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

– Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

– Drive suspended/while disqualified (Highway Traffic Act)

22 year-old Cody Chad Loonfoot has been charged with:

– Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x2)

– Possession of a Weapon (x2)

– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x2)

– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle (x2)

– Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition (x2)

– Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm (x2)

He was also processed on an outstanding arrest warrant for:

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

They were detained in custody.
