Magnitude 8.2 Quake off Alaska Prompts Tsunami Warning

INTERNATIONAL NEWS – Communities along the west coast have been given the all clear from a tsunami warning that was issued early this morning.

An earthquake off the coast of Alaska happened around 1:30 AM is what initiated the official tsunami warning all along the North American west coast.

Sirens could be heard in some BC communities and Emergency Info BC sent out this tweet at 2:24 AM.

Police on Kodiak Island in Alaska warned residents to seek high ground in a video sent out via social media.

The tsunami warning has been officially lifted.
