WINNIPEG – Police say a 31 year old has been charged with numerous offences after a Winnipeg store was robbed by a man armed with a machete and handgun.

The culprit had a child with him at the time and threatened a security officer who tried to intervene.

He put the stolen property in the kid’s backpack and they fled on foot.

After a shirt pursuit, the suspect was tasered when he failed to cooperate with officers. The child was not hurt.

The charges include robbery and failing to provide the necessities of life for the child.
