WINNIPEG – Police had to use a taser on a man and woman caught trying to steal a vehicle near Logan Avenue and Quelch Street Thursday morning.

At 4:15 AM police responded to a call of two people breaking into a vehicle. Officers found a man and a woman inside the vehicle when they arrived. As officers attempted to arrest the individuals, the man became combative.

One officer was punched in the head and the man then attempted to grab at both the officer’s baton and gun. The other officer deployed a taser which caused the man to let go of the gun and take off.
