McCREARY – A five year-old chid has died as a result of a fatal house fire that took place in McCreary on November 28 at about 1:40 A.M.

With assistance from community members from the Citizens on Patrol Program, and a 28-year-old female occupant of the residence, a 3-year-old child was rescued from the house and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 28-year-old female was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A five-year-old child was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The RCMP, along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.
