WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg man was arrested after police discovered a dangerous drug lab in a suite of an apartment building on Mayfair Avenue.
While police, fire and paramedics, along with a Hazmat team were safely ventilating and securing the building, residents were temporarily housed in transit buses.
Various pieces of lab equipment, a pressure cooker, a chemical suit with gloves and a self-contained breathing apparatus were seized. Drano, acid, and red phosphorus as well as numerous samples were sent to Health Canada for analysis.
While police were securing the suite, the resident arrived home and was arrested.
29 year-old Conal Patrick Moran has been charged with:
CDSA 7(1) Production of a Scheduled Substance
CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine)
Mischief Under $5,000 x 2
Moran was detained in custody.
