WINNIPEG – As we head into the final long weekend of the summer, you may want to avoid drinking beer because mosquitoes are more attracted to beer drinkers.
A new study in the Journal of Mosquito Control says drinking just one beer can cause mosquitoes to bite you instead of someone else.
The scientists behind the study say the chemical compound ethanol is a favorite of mosquitoes and when you consume beer, the percentage of ethanol in your sweat increases.
Drinking alcohol also makes your body temperature go up and that too will attract mosquitoes.
