WINNIPEG – The Assiniboine Park Conservancy is once again inviting the public to enjoy Movies in the Park at the Lyric Theatre over the first four Fridays in August. The popular summer cinema series kicks off tonight with a double feature that includes Incredibles 2 at 6:30 p.m. and superhero sensation Captain Marvel at 8:45 p.m.

“As part of our annual Summer Entertainment Series, Movies in the Park has become a favourite summer tradition for so many Park visitors,” said Laura Cabak, Communications & Public Relations Manager, Assiniboine Park Conservancy. “We are so grateful to the sponsors who make it possible for us to host these free community events all summer long.”

Presented by Steinbach Credit Union, Movies in the Park features a variety of blockbuster films on a cinema-style 27 foot wide LED screen at the Lyric Theatre. Completing the movie theatre experience, the Lyric Theatre concession will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., serving popcorn, ice cream treats, and other tasty snacks.
