WINNIPEG – The city’s fire trucks will start getting new sirens.

The noise these sirens make are easier for both drivers and pedestrians to hear. Vehicles are more sound-proof these days and people are often walking with earbuds in.

One siren has low frequency sounds, while another has a high pitch. They’ll work together to make sure people hear the fire truck behind them.
