WINNIPEG – Thelma Krull’s disappearance that took place four years ago is still an active police investigation and they continue to go through the hundreds of tips that they have received from the community.

The Winnipeg police have released the following update and request for help in the investigation into the murder of Thelma Krull.

We are providing an update on our investigation into the murder of Thelma Krull, and more importantly, to ask for your help. First and foremost, the Winnipeg Police Service wants to thank our community — all of you — for the hundreds of tips and useful information you have provided to us as we continue efforts to find justice for Thelma Krull and her family. This remains a very active investigation, and we continue to work around-the-clock on the information you provide. We will leave no stone unturned.

Despite the thousands of hours of investigative work by our agency and the RCMP, this case remains unsolved. That said, the answer is still out there, and we are confident that a member of our community can help us. We are here today asking for your help.

Through a community tip, we have learned of an individual who may hold valuable information about Thelma’s disappearance. This person, who was in a position to observe Thelma, may not yet realize that they saw or heard something of value and for that reason, we want to speak to them. This individual is a driver of a gold-coloured 4-door sedan (believed to a 2005-2010 import, such as a Toyota, a Hyundai or a Honda, and was in good condition).

They may not live in the area surrounding the Civic park or even in the city of Winnipeg. For this reason, we are asking you to contact us at 204-986-6508 about anyone you know who currently owns or who may have had access to a gold car matching the description. Again, the description of the vehicle is as follows: A gold-coloured 4-door sedan (believed to a 2005-2010 import, such as a Toyota, a Hyundai or a Honda, and was in good condition).

We will continue to investigate all tips submitted to our agency, and we are confident that you can assist us in solving this case and ensuring justice for Thelma.

Thelma had gone for a walk on July 11, 2015, at 7:23 a.m., and is believed to have walked from her residence in the Grassie Boulevard area to the Civic Park near Kildonan East Collegiate in the Valley Gardens area, where she arrived at approximately 8:00 a.m. Investigators later recovered several items in this area that belonged to Thelma, including her glasses and mobile phone.

Thelma is described as a Caucasian female, about 5’4” tall, 170 pounds and short dyed blonde hair with a purple streak. At the time of her disappearance, Thelma was last seen wearing:

– A red/orange t-shirt (bright-coloured)

– ¾-length black Capri style pants

– A black fanny pack

– Tan/brown hiking-style boots/shoes

We continue to ask anyone with information that hasn’t yet spoken with investigators to come forward. Members of the Homicide Unit can be contacted directly at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
