Police Put 6 High Risk Sex Offenders Back in Jail

WINNIPEG – A special initiative by the Winnipeg police resulted in several high-risk sex offenders living in the city being arrested and returned to jail.

Police said Between October 3 and October 12 they made six arrests of high-risk sex offenders resulting in 18 charges being laid, one warrant executed and one person returning to custody without new charges.

On October 9 Dalas Darcy Broekaert, a 48-year-old male was arrested for Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2 after being observed in possession of alcohol at a liquor store, contrary to conditions of his release. He has been returned to custody.

On October 10 Travis Patrick Seymour, a 27-year-old male was arrested for seven sexual offences occurring between March 2017 and September 2018, and four breaches of courts orders. The victim in this matter was a child. Seymour has been returned to custody.

On October 10 Justin David Levasseur, a 28-year-old male was arrested on a warrant for revocation of Statutory Release. He has been returned to custody.

On October 10 Michael Kenneth Chubb, a 48-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant. He has been returned to custody.

On October 11 Thomas Meadows, a 58-year-old male was arrested for a theft which occurred in August 2018. He was also charged with Breach of Long Term Supervision Order. He was returned to custody.

On October 12 James Norman Campbell, a 36-year-old male was arrested Failing to Comply with Court Order X2. He was also returned to custody.
