WINNIPEG – Power is back on in the Transcona area after an outage impacted thousands of customers Wednesday morning.
Manitoba Hydro says most of Transcona and customers in St. Boniface Industrial Park and Mission Gardens were without power. That’s around 21,000 customers.
Hydro says the cause of the outage was a pole fire that triggered a chain reaction and impacted multiple stations. Crews managed to restore power to 17,000 customers, but finally finished repairs to the last station just before 2 in the afternoon, restoring power to the remaining 4,000.
