WINNIPEG – RCMP have charged and fined eight people for non-essential travel in Northern Manitoba on the long weekend.

The seven Winnipeggers and one individual from Dauphin have each been fined $486.

All of them say they were visiting family and friends in the Thompson area.

Because of CoVid-19, no travel is allowed into the north above the 53rd parallel.
