Cross Lake RCMP are investigating an attempted child abduction involving a nine-year-old girl on September 12, 2018.
The child was walking home from a playground at about 8:00pm when she noticed a black pick-up truck parked on the street with a man in the driver’s seat. As she passed by the man knocked on his window and offered her a candy bar. He then grabbed her arm and tried to pull her into his truck. She managed to get away and ran to a nearby home for help.
A composite sketch has been made of the suspect. He is described as Indigenous and in his 50s. The victim noted that the suspect had wrinkled skin, a large nose, dark black eyes and shoulder-length black hair. He was wearing a black sweater with no hood, jeans and shoes that were orange on the bottom. He also had a white discolouration on his hands and fingers.
The truck is described as an older black pickup truck.
