WINNIPEG, MB – Canadian Ride Share company could begin service this Friday in Winnipeg.
Uber and Lyft have not committed to Winnipeg but Edmonton based TappCar has. According to a company release, they have received a Manitoba Public Insurance certificate and will begin service on March 2nd in the city.
In the same company release, spokesperson Pascal Ryffel said, “The safety of Winnipeggers comes first, so we’re proud to announce that we’ve secured MPI insurance requirements for ridesharing operators, which are well designed to protect drivers, ratepayers and third parties,”
