Roussin: Santa Is Essential

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – Santa Claus has been officially declared an essential worker for Manitobans with just over a week before his scheduled flight from the North Pole. Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin offered the special update addressed to children in the province during his regular COVID-19 press conference.

Citing public health measures, Dr. Roussin acknowledged, “We’ve heard that because of these orders there’s been concerns that, perhaps, Santa Claus may not be able to visit – but Premier Pallister and I have worked with others in the government, and made some special changes for Santa Claus.”

He notes that Claus is cleared for travel to Manitoba, and special arrangements were made to ensure he can safely visit homes across the province this Christmas.
