WINNIPEG – The Guns & Gangs Unit arrested a 40 year-old man on Redwood Avenue, armed with a shot-gun after a brief struggle.

The officers encountered the man, who was known to them just before midnight and while they were speaking to him noticed that he was armed with a firearm. After a brief struggle he was arrested and taken into custody and a loaded, sawed-off 410 break-action shotgun was seized from him.

40 year-old Keith Erlin Chartrand, has been charged with:

– Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order (x5)

– Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x5)

– Carrying Concealed Weapon

He was detained in custody.
