WINNIPEG – The Manitoba government says over three dozen people have accessed expanded supports for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence that launched only a few months ago.
Families Minister Nahanni Fontaine says survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence should be able to get trauma-informed, culturally specific care in their communities.
She says expanding the province’s sexual assault nurse examiner program, including wraparound supports at Ka Ni Kanichihk and Klinic, will make it possible for survivors to access a specially trained nurse outside of a hospital setting.
