SMALL BIZ RENT HELP

Manitoba Post StaffNational News

WINNIPEG – Ottawa is helping small business pay the rent. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he and the provinces have agreed to lower business rent by 75 per cent for April, May and June. 50 per cent will be covered by government, the other 25 per cent is up to the property owner. This applies to businesses strongly affected by CoVid-19 and paying less than $50,000 a month for rent. Non-profits and charities will also be eligible. Trudeau says he will have more to say soon about rent support for larger businesses.
