WINNIPEG, MB. – Potentially 100,000 customers of Bell Canada may have had their information accessed by a data breach. There are reports that the company is contacting those customers that may be affected.

Bell has not confirmed how many customers exactly may have been affected but many media reports suggest the total could be 100,000.

Bell says the information consisted primarily of names and email addresses and that there’s no indication that any credit card, banking or other information was accessed.

Eight months ago an anonymous hacker had obtained some customers’ names and telephone numbers as well as email addresses from Bell.
