Springs Church Going To Court

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – Springs Church is going to court to challenge the province’s COVID-19 public health order that bans drive-in religious services.

Lawyers will start making their arguments today but it’s not known whether or when an injunction might be granted.

Springs pastor Leon Fontaine points out that drive-up is allowed in retail during the pandemic but not in religion.

The church was fined $20,000 for holding drive-in services on the weekend.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms has also threatened legal action in a letter to Premier Brian Pallister on the same issue.
